The Challenge

Creating a website for a busy couple who aren’t naturally comfortable with computers brings its own unique challenges. The FBA team needed to update their new website daily — adding new products, managing online orders, responding to enquiries, sending weekly email campaigns, and handling the practical side of dispatch like printing invoices and packing slips. They also needed to easily create new categories and keep their growing collection of books well organised. My goal was to build a system that not only looked great and worked seamlessly, but one that they could manage confidently every day, without the stress of tech headaches.

The Solution

To make the website truly work for them, I provided practical one-to-one training sessions tailored to their needs, ensuring they could confidently manage every aspect of the site. I backed this up with easy-to-follow, step-by-step guides complete with screenshots for common tasks. And when questions come up — or new ideas arise — I’m always on hand with fast, friendly support. I also created custom import and export templates, making it simple to share book details across platforms like Biblio, helping them reach more customers and maximise their sales potential without extra hassle.

The Impact on Frost Books

The personalised training made a real difference. What once felt daunting and too complicated is now part of their daily routine. The team now confidently manages every aspect of their online business — from adding new products and updating listings to processing orders and communicating with customers. With nearly 10,000 items for sale, they’ve taken full control of their website and run it entirely in-house. It’s become the core part of their business, and the independence they’ve gained means they can keep growing without relying on outside help for everyday tasks.

Impact of our work with Frost Books

The website now receives over half a million hits every month — which keeps our website owners very busy. From the start, we set our sights on attracting customers in North America, knowing it was a key market for the business. That focus has paid off: today, the majority of the site’s traffic comes from the U.S. and Canada, driving strong interest and steady sales. It’s a great example of how a clear strategy and well-executed website can open up a global audience.

This chart shows just how active the website is throughout the day, with a consistent flow of over 1,000 hits per hour between 5am and 5pm. Traffic builds steadily through the morning, reaching a peak of nearly 1,500 hits at 1pm as users browse, shop, and place orders during their lunch break. These patterns highlight the importance of a fast, reliable website that performs well during peak hours — something we’ve prioritised from day one.
